During certain events, like Fires and Temps de flors, the city is absolutely packed, so it takes some wisdom to arrive by car. Of course, arriving by train is not a problem. Bear in mind:
- you may not be able to drive through the old city, Barri Vell, to the door of the apartment, as sometimes roads are blocked for musicians, installing things etc
- you may book a place in a parking nearby, just 10 min away: https://www.saba.es/ca/parking-girona/parking-saba-berenguer-i-carnicer
- I recommend you to unload your staff in a location nearby. A good choice is Oficina de correus, which is about 5 minutes walk, on the opposite side of the river. There is some space on the side of the roundabout – but not on the taxi parking!
- Don’t try to leave the car there. Always leave someone in charge.
- Leave someone keeping the luggage.
- Try to park. Depending on the hour, it can be difficult (worse would be Saturday afternoon). Try: “Mercadona: Avinguda de França, 12, 17007 Girona”, the parking zone of the supermarket, or Caprabo, Carrer de Pedret. It is about 20 minutes walk from the apartment.
